  • Methods and techniques for preparing and presenting business cases, requests for proposal (RFP) invitations to tender (ITT) and statements of requirements/work both verbally and in writing;
  • Establishing relationships, analysing perspectives and managing stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Adapting stakeholder engagement style to meet the needs of different audiences. The identification of key business stakeholders and an assessment of their level of power and interests, and their perspectives to inform the way(s) in which they should be considered and managed.

This certification is designed for those new to business analysis, including professionals in business change looking for an overview of the discipline. As a knowledge-based specialism, it also serves as a key stepping stone to the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis.

The Foundation in Business Analysis course provides an ideal starting point on your journey towards becoming a seasoned business analysis professional.

Built around the business change lifecycle, this course introduces essential techniques every business analyst should know — including strategy analysis, investigation techniques, requirements engineering and stakeholder management.

Designed and delivered by seasoned practitioners with extensive hands-on experience, each session delivers practical insights to help you apply business analysis effectively.

No prior qualifications are required to study this course.

The live BCS exam:

  • is included as part of the course
  • is a one-hour, closed-book assessment with 40 multiple-choice questions, requiring a pass mark of 26/40, 65%
  • can be taken on the final day of the course or deferred to when you feel ready
  • is taken from your location
  • results are available immediately

Note:

  • Candidates whose natural language is not English are eligible for an extra 15 minutes
  • Candidates requiring reasonable adjustments due to a disability can also apply for additional time

I used Amatis Training to complete the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis. I chose the self study route and the training materials provided were excellent. The material was structured into modules so it was easy to break the learning down into manageable sections. Having the app was also great as it meant I could access the course whenever I needed. The sample papers were incredibly invaluable as they helped me get a feel of how questions could be asked and the importance of reading the question properly! There was no pressure either on when to take the exam and although there will never be a perfect time to take an exam I was able to choose when from a list of options. I was looking for a training provider for the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis to support my transition from Project Management to focus on Business Analysis and found Amatis via a google and LinkedIn search.
