Data analysis looks at how to analyse and model data within an organisation using concepts and principles of data analysis; class modelling, generalisation, specialisation and sub-types.

Involving practical exercises, group discussions and a corporate case study, this in-depth data analysis course equips students with the tools they need in their day to day work.

Students will attain the BCS Professional Certificate in Data Analysis, a valuable certification in its own right and practical evidence for their CV. This is a widely recognised and internationally respected qualification in the specialised field of Data Analysis.

As well as learning key Data Analysis techniques and practices including operations, normalisation and validation, students will gain a solid understanding of the concepts and principles of data analysis. They will be able to define data requirements with detailed understanding and rigour. Students will be confident in modelling data using class diagrams.

This qualification forms one of the Analytical Skills modules of the BCS Advanced International Diploma in Business Analysis – students can go on to complete their advanced diploma once they have successfully obtained three more qualifications at Professional level, choosing from the BCS Certificate in Business Architecture, Agile Business Analysis, Benefits Planning and Realisation, Business Analysis Service Delivery and Stakeholder Engagement.

Once you have completed the remaining three certificates to gain the Advanced Diploma and have 5 years’ experience in a BA role, you may want to validate your expertise by attaining the Expert BA Award.
